In lieu of the many pop-culture events postponed indefinitely in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lost Girl alums Rachel Skarsten and Paul Amos have put together HomeCon.
Several pop-culture events, including Emerald City Comic-Con, ClexaCon, and even Coachella have been postponed indefinitely due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, that hasn’t stopped Lost Girl alums Rachel Skarsten and Paul Amos from making lemonade out of life’s lemons. Skarsten and Amos, both regulars on the con circuit, took to Instagram Live this weekend to announce that they will be putting on the first ever virtual comic convention, HomeCon.
The con will be hosted on the live-streaming platform Twitch on April 10 and 11. Fans would pay just $4.99 for access to the event, which is set to feature 35 actors and 14 show panels. Instead of the usual in-person photo ops, attendees will be able to purchase one-on-one chats (provided via Zoom) with their favorite celebrities for five minutes at $50. HomeCon will donate 10 percent of its proceeds to charity, namely First Responders First, an organization that supports healthcare workers by providing hospital gowns, masks, gloves, and other medical essentials.
Actors scheduled to make an appearance include stars of shows such as Lost Girl, Supergirl, Wynonna Earp, Arrow, Batwoman, Marvel’s Runaways, Lucifer, and Riverdale. Those participating include Nicole Maines, Azie Tesfai, Andrea Brooks, Julie Gonzalo, Anna Silk, Zoie Palmer, Kris Holden-Reid, Gregg Sulkin, Casey Cott, Tim Rozon, Kat Barrell, and Camrus Jackson. Fans can sign up for the event via HomeCon’s website or by going directly to Twitch and searching for the HomeCon sub.
