After a very successful inaugural launch, HomeCon returns for its second edition. The virtual fan convention, created by Lost Girl alums Paul Amos and Rachel Skarsten as a way to combat the isolation felt with many conventions canceled due to COVID-19, will be back Saturday, May 16 – Sunday, May 17, 2020 and promises more panels and more 1-on-1 Zoom chats. HomeCon 2.0 will also offer group-on-1 interviews for $40 that will accomodate up to 10 people chatting with one actor and are aimed at more bashful fans.
Headlining HomeCon: 2nd Edition will be panels featuring the cast of Orphan Black, including Emmy-winning and Golden Globe nominee, Tatiana Maslany. Panels for Vikings, The Women of The 100, and a Heroes reunion are all also scheduled panels. The cast of Wynonna Earp will return for HomeCon 2.0, but this time the cast will be joined by showrunner Emily Andras. New guests and panels will continue to be added and announced on HomeCon’s official website.
HomeCon donated $10,000 to #FirstRespondersFirst during its first edition that saw more than 44,000 views (Source: Twitch) and online conversations about the event in more than 38 countries spread over six continents (Source: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram). The convention will continue to support the charity in its 2nd Edition. In addition to that donation, actors participating in the HOMECON: 1st Edition have also been responsible for designating thousands of dollars of additional funds to support Canada Helps and Start the Wave, as well as funding nearly a thousand meals to the LA Regional Food Bank.
